| Precision Grinding, Boring and Milling Spindle Systems

Parker
Majestic offers a wide range of belt driven and motorized
box and cartridge spindles for a variety of applications.
A full range of standard spindles is available for applications
such as:
- High speed machining
- Gun reaming (squirt out type as well as motorized servo spindles with "ramp-up" capability)
- Generating head applications
- Facing head applications
- Cylinder boring
- Machining centers
- Gear reduction spindles for slow speed face milling
- Quill retract spindles
- Headstock and tailstock arrangements
- Grinding spindles
- Multi-spindle machining with spindle cluster (fixed and steerable)
- Multi-spindle machining with heads
- Balancing spindles
- And more
Parker
Majestic works with customers to select the best spindle fit
for the application. We work around existing engineering wherever
possible. Our engineers operate the latest and most powerful
mechanical engineering CAD packages available on numerous
workstations.
Approval
drawings are submitted promptly to customers for review and
to ensure mating parameters are correct. Special designs are
based on previous experience, as there are few applications
that Parker Majestic has not provided a solution for in the
past.

Appropriate
applications have L10 theoretical bearing life calculations
carried out on bearing life analysis software. The theoretical
figure is shown on the spindle drawing. For transfer line
applications Parker Majestic likes to see L10 lives in excess
of 20,000 hours to give the automotive user premium reliability
and uptime. Finite Element Analysis (F.E.A.) of spindle systems
can be modeled on our in house systems with the results supplied
to spindle customers.
In
addition to the belt driven range of spindles, Parker Majestic
offers a full range of motorized spindles with non-vent, fan
or water cooling. Parker Majestic works closely with the motor
manufacturers to ensure HP, torque and speed requirements
are met. We also supply frequency inverter packages for variable
speed requirements. Where liquid cooling is required, a stand
alone coolant chiller can be supplied with an integral pump
to recirculate coolant for removing heat from the motor. HP,
Torque and Speed curves can be supplied.

High-speed
spindle packages use oil/air lubrication, ceramic bearings
or other forms of lubrication. Parker Majestic offers a patented
lubricator which incorporates superior features developed
for specific high speed spindle requirements.
Bearing
packages are selected to suit customer applications. Parker
Majestic has experience with:
- Angular contact radial ball bearings
- Ball bearings
- Needle thrust bearings
- Hollow roller bearings
- Solid roller bearings
- Tapered bore roller bearings
- Tapered roller bearings
- Hydro-dynamic oil film bearings
- Hydra-static oil bearings
The method of lubrication recommended is optimized for the particular application. When the application permits it, spindles will be grease packed and sealed for life using the latest synthetic greases. As Dn values (bearing bore size x rpm) rise, ceramic rolling elements and oil/air lubrication systems may be required. On slow speed gear driven heads oil splash or recirculating oil may be used.
Parker
Majestic also specializes in the design and manufacture of
precision spindle clusters, and where required to achieve
capability, can incorporate temperature control, steerable
spindles, drive system engineering, non-influence belt drives
and more.
Parker
Majestic offers customers a "total engineering package"
to meet the exacting requirements of todays special
purpose machining needs.
